Do You Expect Riches (21/22)?

Story21:

A college graduate was thrilled to work for the insurance giant, W. Clement Stone.

He asked Stone for some sales leads. Stone had his secretary type a list and give it to him.

The young man left Stone’s office full of hope and passion with the leads, and he sold four insurance policies.

At the end of the day, the young man returned to Stone’s office and asked Stone for more great leads.

Stone pulled out a telephone book and said, “The list of the referrals you asked for came from this phone book, and now you can have the whole list.”

The young man was speechless!

Stone had been a long-term student of Biblical principles, so he taught the young man with this verse,

“The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish (Proverb 10:28).”

Stone proceeded to explain that the law of expectation manifested perfectly for the young man that day.

The young man had regarded the random phone list as a special list of referrals from Stone. He expected these people to respond well to his sales, and he acted accordingly with positive mental expectations.

The results? He attracted the ready and able customers with his positive mental attitude.

Lesson:

What you expect becomes your reality.

Regardless of how you want the outcome to be, your mind is constantly messing up with you with fear, doubts, and endless nagging.

Business coach Brian Tracy said in his training to entrepreneurs, “If you expect something is going to happen, good or bad, it will happen the way you had expected.”

Whatever you expect with confidence becomes your self-fulfilling prophecy.

For example, if you’re pinched with bank accounts, owe large amounts on credit cards, and are behind paying bills, you have a choice to make.

If you expect nothing will help, you will remain enslaved by your problem and even go deeper into your debt. As you focus on the problem, you remain on it.

However, if you dare to believe there is a way, and maybe multiple ways to assist you, your expectation will lead you to the solution end.

While manufacturing Ford vehicles, Henry Ford overlooked the problem galore and insisted on the successful outcome,

“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”

Whenever I ran into a disappointment, I would think of a Bible story in Genesis.

Young Joseph was envied and hated by his older brothers, and together, they sold him to Egypt as a slave.

Through all the twists and turns, Joseph became a prominent figure in Egypt, equivalent today as a prime minister.

When the brothers finally figured out this Joseph was the brother they had sold, they were terrified and begged for forgiveness.

But, this is what Joseph said,

“You all intended to harm me, but God meant this experience for my good.”

The setback today is always a setup for tomorrow. Your attitude toward a challenge determines your altitude in the grand scheme of life.

I fell to the bottom of the financial crash during 2008-2009. To save my home and preserve our family’s lifestyle. I went on a journey of studying my least interesting subject: Money.

On the journey, not only I did learn to turn impossible bills into small possibilities, but I also acquired new knowledge which has positively impacted my financial life.

The game of life is to be aware of your thoughts and feelings, acknowledge them, and find ways to turn your disappointment into victory.

If money is a temporary concern, dare to expect an abundance of it flowing your way. As a child of God, why wouldn’t a loving God want you to live richly and joyously?

Now open the money door with your affirmations.

I accept God’s riches.

I expect the highest and the best ideas.

I deserve God’s avalanches of love and abundance.

Let the money truth be engraved in your heart.

Your expectation of a rich and fulfilled life is MONEY.
