Asking Is Money (16/22)?

Story 16:

Lorie owns a ranch in Southern California. It serves mostly charter schools and disabled children for healing through animal connection.

The 2020 mandatory lockdown put Lorie’s ranch in financial distress. She barely had enough funds to keep the animals fed.

Reluctantly, she put her ranch on the market for sale.

After months of waiting, a qualified buyer made an offer. While in escrow, the buyer lost his business because of the lockdown.

What now? Lorie lost her sleep.

As she stayed up every night, she calculated the cost to save her ranch. She also birthed a new idea to use her ranch to heal wounded children.

She estimated a total of $185,000 to save her ranch and start her new project.

“Why don’t I at least ASK?” she thought to herself.

Nervous but determined to save her ranch, she went on a radio show and asked for help.

The show aired on Monday, and by Friday of the same week, Lorie received donations from all over the country which came to $180,000.

The universe heard Lorie’s request and conspired to support her dream.

“It was God who put in my heart to help these children, and I’m glad to have partnered with God.” Lorie later acknowledged her Divine assistance.

Lesson:

The grit to ASK can lead you to increased wealth.

We live in a society that magnifies the virtue of independent achievement. Asking for help doesn’t seem to fit in the effort model.

Every hero movie parades the journey of struggles as if struggles are noble and the only way to obtain any worthwhile goal.

We become self-conscious when asking for help, and we self-doubt when we do ask.

We often neglect the wonder of asking, and that’s why the Bible reminds us that we have not, because we ask not (James 2:3).

Simply put: If you want something, ask for it!

God loves children. Healing wounded children is Lorie’s business, but it’s ultimately God’s business. Why will God decline her request for help?

Just how powerful is it to ASK? Here is another Bible story to inspire you.

Abigail was married to a fool and almost got herself killed because of this fool’s disrespect to David.

She courageously begged David to spare the lives of her whole tribe.

After her wish was granted, she didn’t stop there.

She ASKED for more. She asked David to remember her!

David was so impressed with her boldness that he married her (1 Samuel, chapter 25).

By asking boldly, Abigail changed her season from marrying a fool to marrying a king.

She not only changed her destiny but also upgraded her tribe to a higher standard of living as a queen.

All this came from one word: ASK.

When I attended college, I heard a professor bluntly saying, “A sealed mouth will not be fed. If you’re too afraid of asking, tough luck.”

Since English is my second language, I was afraid of speaking, let alone asking. Asking was one of my fears to overcome and a skill to acquire, but it also happened to be one of my most effective ways to attract money and opportunities.

When I began my home health nursing career, I had no experience.

One day when I was submitting my application at a home health agency, I learned that they needed a night-shift nurse for a baby at home.

I asked the director, “Since the baby’s mother knows how to care for the baby and needs help, she can teach me. You have 90-day probation on me. If my performance is not satisfactory, you can fire me any time.”

He needed a replacement nurse, and I was hired immediately.

Think this way. If you ask God for 10 things, and He only grants you one. Guess what? You’re 10% ahead of yesterday’s game.

Now, if you want more money, are you willing to ask for ideas and opportunities that will lead you to increased wealth?

Ask. Ask. Ask.

Now, open the money door with affirmations:

I AM open to asking for help.

I AM freely asking and receiving.

I AM asking God to shower me with money ideas.

Let the money truth be engraved in your heart.

Your grit to ASK can be MONEY.
