Where Is Your Answer?

Hello, dear one!

During this most tumultuous or exciting time, if you’re about to make a life-changing decision, where is your answer to a tough question?

A young man in my neighborhood faced a dilemma.

After working tirelessly for a dream company for about two years, his distant relative in Stockholm, Sweden offered him a summer stay.

He’s always wanted to visit Europe, especially his father’s native Sweden. Now, he’s saved enough money to cover the basic traveling expenses.

Free room for a month in a prime location in Stockholm? He couldn’t pass up the offer!

Elated, he applied for a one-month leave from his company.

His request was quickly declined.

The company is now facing the most challenging financial future, so the reply was an ultimatum: Either stay to keep your job, or resign to play.

After college, it took him almost one year to land this job. He loved his job and appreciated his company’s decent pay and benefits.

For about two weeks, he suffered a deep inner struggle.

Should he quit the job to play? What if there would be no chance to get another job like this one upon returning?

But if he chose to stay, would he ever get another invitation like this one? Would he regret later in life for not jumping on a rare opportunity?

Stay or play?

If you’re ever feeling alone making a decision, remember God or your higher self is always looking out for your best interest and working behind the scenes.

That day I happened to walk my dog off my usual route, and we ran into each other. He seldom walked during that hour, but somehow he was compelled to take a break from long hours on the computer.

The Universe was busy lining us together!

As we walked together, he confided me with his dilemma.

“Oh, you’ve already got the answer in you.” And I told him an old Hindu parable.

In the beginning, when the earth was first formed, God wanted a place to hide the secret of life.

He suggested putting the secrets in the highest mountains, but people said, “We could climb to the top and find it”.

“What about the deepest ocean?” God asked.

Without hesitation, people assured, “We could still find it.”

Finally, God decided to hide the secret of life in each person.

Why?

Because it was the last place one would seek. Everyone with a problem always looks outwardly for a solution, approval, and confirmation.

Aha, this was the story he needed to hear!

He was so relieved to recognize the fear and insecurity inside. He was fearful of losing his job because he regarded that job as his only financial source.

That was just a lie from a limited human perspective.

If God was the source of all his supplies, he could always find work anytime and anywhere. If his current job was meant for him, he would be rehired upon return.

Whatever he feared he must let it go so that he didn’t have to deal with this kind of fear ever again!

He assessed his situation. He was 25, single, and without a committed partner and children.

He was meant for this Europe adventure, at the right time of his life.

The next day, he submitted a resignation letter to his company, and he worked hard as usual until his last day.

He’ll forget many things in life, but not this trip. This is one journey he’ll remember for the rest of his life because he learned to let it go and let himself be.

Regardless of what others would choose in the same situation, this journey belonged to him.

He’s now in Europe. Each day as he unfolds his journey, moment to moment, he’ll receive more approval and confirmation from within.

There is no coincidence that you’re reading this article.

I’m not sharing his story to encourage you to quit your job, leave your partner, or move to a new location.

There is no right or wrong with your choice, but are you aware of what’s driving you to a certain decision? Is it from fear or love?

Rich or poor, we all have 24 hours a day to spend our lives. We can consciously spend our time in love or fear, or cluelessly led by Life.

Why would Jesus teach us that man should not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God (Mathew 4:4)?

The bread is anything external, your name, your title, your roles, your career, your family and friends, your material possessions, and your mind, which is the cause of all your problems.

When you depend on external influences to validate who you are, Life will cause you to lose them and endure heartaches, again and again, until you’ve learned to come home to yourself.

Every answer you seek is right here, right now, and within you.

The things you’re meant to have, you cannot possibly lose them. The things you hold on to tightly, and if they’re not for you, they will find ways to leave you.

God in you or your higher self is always with you, guiding and providing for you, regardless of your awareness of its omnipresence.
