Trust Your Ego Or God?

Hello, dear one!

You probably have experienced this too. You so wanted something to happen your way, and you toiled yourself with heart and soul. However, you didn’t witness the fruition in the end.

While you were discouraged, life magically moved you to a place beyond your wildest dream.

That’s how you heard stories like how a young lady was heartbroken by a heartless fellow but now is married happily ever after with a kind soul.

Your spiritual path always supersedes your physical path. God, or Universe-at-Large, or Infinite Intelligence, Supreme Power, Source, or your higher being always knows you better than you.

Here is a true story to uplift your spirit and bring a smile to your heart.

During a dinner with my new neighbors, I learned a story of God’s plan versus the human ego.

About a year ago, my neighbor was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease and was on dialysis every 2 days. She was only in her early thirties with two young children, ages three and five.

She was getting sicker and sicker because of her worsened autoimmune disease. The doctor told her that she needed a kidney transplant to survive.

She was placed on a waiting list for a kidney transplant and was told by her medical team that this could take ten years.

She threw herself on the floor and cried to God, “Help me. I need a miracle to watch my two children grow into adults.”

Her mother, a dedicated Christian suggested putting a request in for her congregation.

When the pastor read her request in front of the church people on a Sunday morning, a young lady heard a voice, “Give her the kidney.”

This young lady was convinced that she was the one God wanted to help my neighbor.

God did have a plan.

It turned out this young lady was a perfect match to donate her kidney. My neighbor knew her earth angel was sent from above.

But there was a twist that involved God’s plan again.

My neighbor was referred to a local Medical Center, but they declined her because of the complication and risks involved with her case.

My neighbor cried and cried, and suddenly she realized that her human plan didn’t work. So, what would be God’s plan for her next?

She sat quietly and became still, waiting for God’s guidance and not leaning on her ego.

The local Medical Center referred her to another Medical Center.

And that’s when my neighbor experienced the true miracle from God!

Normally there was a long waiting period for a kidney transplant, especially during the holiday season around Christmas.

My neighbor decided to surrender herself to God, letting God be.

Five days before Christmas, she received a call from this medical center with a surprise: The director of the department would perform this surgery.

The director had a teaching arrangement out of the country, but the flight was canceled. She usually teaches medical students and practicing doctors to perform these surgeries, but she decided to take on this operation.

My neighbor successfully received her kidney transplant two days before Christmas, from a doctor who was regarded as the world’s expert in kidney transplants.

When there is no way, God’s way is ingenious.

Her donor was a perfect match. Her doctor was Divinely arranged. Her speedy recovery shocked the team of medical staff who cared for her.

When God opens a door for you, no one can close it.

The Bible says that you can plan in your heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails (Proverb 19:21).

If you follow your ego, it will only disappoint you.

That’s why the Bible says to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight(Proverbs 3:5-6).

The next time when you’re facing a situation, and you catch yourself following your ego to manipulate the situation, stop.

I triple dare you to toss your ego and trust God!
