How Good Are Your Skills?

Hello, dear one!

Have you met someone who seems to be super lucky? When there is a big opportunity, this person is always prepared, ready, and able for it!

Business trainer Brain Tracy has dedicated decades to teaching personal development which leads to overall happiness and success in life.

At almost every seminar, attendees would ask Tracy, why some people are luckier than others in the same field with similar educational backgrounds.

Carrying his signature smile, Tracy’s answer is always the same: These people have been prepared to meet their one-time opportunity.

There are the usual professions, but it takes unusual professionals to reach the top 10% of competency in their professions.

The law of cause and effect indicates that when a person learns and does everything he or she can to bring better results, the likelihood of luck will strike.

Luck is a result of intentional preparation.

The famous story of young David defeating Goliath is a perfect illustration of this concept.

Both the Philistines and the Israelites camped on the hills. Between the two hills was a valley. To fight Goliath, David needed to come down from the Israelites’ hill and enter the valley.

However, David could easily be killed by the spears shooting from the hills.

His survival rate was less than one percent!

Now let’s meet Goliath. He was over nine feet tall and covered with a coat of bronze armor. His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels (1 Samuel 17: 4-7).

You get the idea; he was invincible!

Goliath harassed and coerced the Israelites to fight. If you kill me, we’ll surrender. If we win, you all will be our slaves. Of course, King Saul and his Israelites were terrified.

For forty days, the Philistines threatened the Israelites every morning and every evening, until David arrived in the scene.

King Saul reminded David that he was only a young boy, but Goliath had been a fighting man from his youth.

But David insisted that he had been prepared for this moment!

As a shepherd boy, alone, in the wildness, David had killed the lion and the bear to rescue his flock. He was also a skilled gunslinger with skills to perfection.

Instead of wearing the usual coat of armor, David put five smooth stones in his shepherd’s bag and approached the enemy with his sling in his hand.

When the fully armed Goliath saw this young boy, he thought it was a joke. Men, what an insult to this giant who was fully equipped!

But young David was aligned with mighty power and affirmed that God would hand over the Philistines to Israel on this day.

As Goliath moved closer to attack David, David quickly ran toward the battle line. He took out a stone, sling it perfectly, and hit Goliath’s forehead between his eyes. Goliath fell face down.

David only had one chance to survive, and he did it with ONE perfect shot!

David had the perfect timing, speed, and aim.

It was a shot of the century because young David had privately prepared himself for this public sensation.

Whatever area you want to succeed in, prepare yourself with mastery. And luck will knock on your door one day.
