Hello, dear one!
If you’re praying for more time in a day to assist you, this article is for you.
After meditating on the teachings from the Bible, the late Mr. Jim Rohn taught people all over the world about time management,
“We all have the same amount of time. Killing time isn’t murder, it’s suicide. The real secret of the rich is not brilliance. It’s the management of time.”
Have you noticed there were days you were clueless as to how they flew by? They seemed like another mundane existence.
However, God intended for us to live jubilantly every day, with the discernment of time use.
Let this Bible story enlighten you about time management.
Jesus befriended two sisters, Martha and Mary. He visited them wherever he was close by.
Martha welcomed Jesus with great hospitality. She spent all her time preparing and cooking the finest meals for Jesus. She invested her hour busy pleasing Jesus.
At the same hour, while Jesus was in the house, her sister Mary chose to sit at his feet and listen to what he taught.
Since the two sisters knew Jesus well, Martha complained to him when she was overwhelmed with the meal preparations, “My sister has left me to do all the work. If you care, tell her to help me!”
To Martha’s surprise, Jesus defended Mary, “Martha, Martha. You’re worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her (Luck 10:41-42).”
Now think about whatever you’re doing at the moment. Take work for an example, it’s not how many hours you work on your job, it’s what skills you’ve acquired during those hours that will free you from needing a job.
Both Mary and Martha shared the same time with Jesus.
Martha chose meal preparation over receiving God’s words. Because she focused on the physical aspects of the bread alone, she missed Jesus’ teaching and found herself completely distracted and overwhelmed.
In contrast, Mary captured the moment and regarded that time with Jesus as her investment in self-development.
What Jesus imparted to her would empower her self-reliance, and no one could walk her path for her. The wisdom of Mary’s inner guidance is her ticket to her freedom journey, while Martha continued to enslave herself with the same thoughts and behaviors.
Back on Mr. Rohn who dedicated his life to advocating for personal liberty and freedom of choices.
He emphasized at every seminar with this biblical concept, “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much!”
Rhon was frank about the company you choose to walk your path. If you want to live a good life, choose to spend time with people who seek growth and will grow you.
Paul explained further what Jesus intended for us: You need to be careful how you walk. Walk wisely, making the most of your time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16).
So, how are you going to manage your time today, like Mary or Martha?
