Where Is Your Home?

Hello, dear one!

Do you remember a time when you felt like a misfit at home, school, or work? Do you sometimes express how happy you could be if you could move to this dream place, own this gorgeous home, or join this pristine community?

What will this manifested dream do for you? Will it make you feel better about yourself?

Do you feel at home now, with where you are and whom you’re with?

A home is where your heart is.

As a child growing up in multiple boarding homes and schools, I never knew where my home was and sought home all my life. When I saw this post on social media, it hit me.

This little boy, God’s precious gift, lived in 23 homes for close to six years. He was finally placed in a permanent home because a family adopted him.

The smile on his face spoke for his cheerful heart, and bless the family who is loving on him.

Nobody can predict how this boy’s future unfolds in a new environment, but this is only his physical home.

We each have two homes, a physical and a spiritual home.

I have moved from county to country, state to state, and home to home. It was exciting at the beginning of each relocation, but then after a few years, the initial exhilaration wore out. I became restless and dreamt about the next home.

The energy force in me would lead me to the next home, and the next home.

There was always a void in my heart, the force to move until I recognized that I wasn’t in my spiritual home.

I’ve been fascinated with King David in the Bible, as he was always at home no matter where he was.

When the prophet Samuel came to look for David, David’s father forgot he even had a son in the wildness watching flocks. David’s father ignored David’s significance and existence.

But young David was at home wherever he moved with his flocks.

Besides not being recognized by his father, David’s older brothers mocked him when David volunteered to take down the giant Goliath.

Things got worse. After David courageously fought Goliath and saved King Saul and his army, the King envied and feared David’s popularity and attempted to murder him.

What a mess for David!

To run for his life, David camped out in the wilderness, from one area to another.

During these most grueling years, David was home with God.

“My Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Each day, God fought David’s battles and supplied him with everything he needed.

To many, David was homeless in the wilderness, physically.

But spiritually, David rested safely in the dwelling of the Most High. Wherever he camped, he was at home with the Almighty.

Once he found his spiritual home, the physical home was naturally peaceful, even in the heat of battles and the extreme hardship in the wilderness.

As I hanged out with God more and more, my spiritual home became more enduring and opulent. I gradually lost the need to move.

Wherever I AM today is exactly where I need to be.

Hope this little boy will have a second chance to grow up in a steady and loving environment, and more importantly, hope he found his ultimate home with God.

If you’re not fully satisfied with where you are, one way to uplift yourself is to transcend your physical space to a spiritual space and give thanks for everything good you have now.

The Bible says that we belong to the Lord and are the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever…..(Psalm 100).

Knowing God and feeling God in you is the home to your heart.

Are you home yet?
