Hello, dear one!
Why are you working on a job not feeling fulfilled? Why are you hanging on to a relationship or friendship that no longer serves you? Why are you forcing yourself to do the chores that displease you?
Humans are creatures of habits.
In a most recent survey from Next Gen Personal Finance, it was reported that 45% of our daily activities are habitual, performed automatically without much thought.
Could it be that you work because you’re used to the schedule? Do you stay with the relationship or friendship because you can tolerate it? Do you do what you hate because you think this is the only way things will get done?
This all goes to your core value.
You may not be aware that your self-worth often arrives from the feedback of the people you’re associated with.
Here is a tough question that requires some thought:
Do they value you the way God created you?
The Bible says that God knew you before He formed you in your mother’s worm, and He set you apart before you were born.
He planted you like a carefully chosen and best-quality vine (Jeremiah 2:21).
How much can you identify yourself with this built-in precious quality from the Creator?
That’s why this story may help you reflect on your true value.
It was a story of a father teaching his beloved daughter what value means in life.
When his daughter graduated from college, the father showed her an old Jeep that he bought many years ago.
He planned to gift her this Jeep, but first, he wanted to teach her a life lesson.
This lesson would be monumental to her future success and happiness.
He first asked her to take the Jeep to a Jeep dealer. The daughter came back and said the dealer offered $1,000.
He then sent the daughter to a pawn shop. The daughter reported the offer of $100.
He finally sent her to a Jeep club. The daughter was shocked to find out that some club members were willing to offer as much as $100,000.
The father said this to his daughter, “The right place values you the right way,” If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place. Those who know your value are those who appreciate you……Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.”
This teaching came from the Bible.
Jesus taught self-worth to his disciples when he sent them out to preach the good news.
He instructed them that whenever they entered a house, stay there until they needed to leave that town. If any place that would not welcome them or listen to them, shook the dust off their feet when they left (Mark 6).
There is no need to waste your life if you’re not appreciated in a place or a relationship.
Everyone regulates their self-worth with an average bar standard. Where are the people who always push you above average? And, where are those who pull your average down?
The same is with the environment. If you stay in a toxic place just for a paycheck, you’re wasting your energy and life. The right place will cultivate a thriving ground for your blooming.
Your job is what you’re paid to do, but your work is what you were born with. Find your gift, and you will never have to work for a job.
Discover and clarify your true value, and you’re forever FREE, dwelling in His kingdom.
